Ann Curry

Ann Curry has worked as a journalist for more than 45 years. She focuses her reporting on natural disasters and conflict zones. Curry has reported on wars all over the globe, including Kosovo Iraq Syria Lebanon Palestine Afghanistan Darfur Congo. Ann Curry, (born November 19 1956 Agana American journalist, television anchor and news reporter who was most well-known for her job as a reporter on the Today show, a news morning program that was broadcast on the National Broadcasting Co. (NBC). Curry gained notoriety for her reporting of catastrophes caused by natural causes and humanitarian crises which occurred in war-ravaged areas. Curry was born in Japan and brought up by a Japanese mother. Her father was an U.S. Navy sailor. Curry's parents bonded in Japan in Japan, where her father had been stationed since World War II. Because of her father's work as a military officer that they had to move around a lot. They eventually moved to Ashland Oregon where Curry attended the high school. In the end, University of Oregon awarded her the degree of bachelor of arts in journalism. As a child she had the privilege of being exposed to diverse different cultures. Her empathetic attitude towards international affairs is probably due to her experience. Ann Curry has been a well-known American journalist since the beginning of the 1990s. Curry attended various schools including San Diego Alameda Oregon Virginia and Virginia. Ashland in Oregon is the place where Curry graduated. In Medford where she began her career in broadcasting at KTVL Channel 10 as an intern. When she was 22 she was the first reporter to be female at KTVL. Later, she moved into the role of anchor as well as reporter at KGW which was an NBC affiliate in Portland, Oregan. Four years later she moved back to Los Angeles as a reporter for the KCBS-TV. It was during her time with the station for the duration of six years that she won two Emmy Awards.
